How much does an event DJ or band cost in Chicago?
Pricing depends on the date, the hours and the format. Q Music invites artists to bid on your event instead of quoting one arbitrary rate, and each artist prices individually for the preparation and execution your event requires, drawing on their own talent and experience. Describe the event and real offers come back from vetted local artists hand-picked to bid for your event, with the platform fee included in the total you see.
Do you cover the suburbs and greater Chicagoland?
Yes. Most bookings are in the city, and our artists regularly play the North Shore, suburbs and beyond; travel is simply a factor in each artist's bid.
How far in advance should I book?
The more lead time, the better. That said, our platform is one of one: we understand events pop up, so we're built for speed, and our network gets your request instantly through the app. A few weeks ahead is comfortable for most Chicago dates. December and fall Saturdays go earliest, and last-minute requests narrow the field because many of our artists hold standing weekly gigs.
What can I book besides a DJ?
Live bands, jazz, soul and string ensembles, acoustic duos, solo musicians and even specialty performers like magicians, fire dancers, burlesque and aerialists, alongside DJs and DJ-plus-live combinations. Sound and equipment needs are handled per booking.
